Welcome to Nature's Embrace.

Naturopathy is a distinct Traditional and Complementary Medical system (T&CM) that originated in Germany in the late 19th century, developed in North America in the early 20th Century, and quickly expanded to over 108 countries worldwide.

Naturopathy is founded on naturopathic theories, including that the body is a complex and self-sustaining whole, and that naturopathic practice must reflect this complexity.  Practitioners are trained to investigate and treat the underlying causes of a person's health condition, rather than simply suppress disease.  Naturopathic practice has always been therapeutically diverse in its approach to healing, aimed at treating the person as a whole, including targeted clinical nutrition, western herbal medicine and healthy lifestyle practices and techniques.  A good Naturopathic practitioner has the knowledge and skills to guide this journey.

Naturopathy is well suited for chronic and complex health conditions, as well as preventative medicine.  It shares historic roots with mainstream Western medicine and can complement it well, offering a safe, effective, drug-free, holistic alternative approach to yours and your family's health & wellbeing.

I have a Diploma in Naturopathy from the Naturopathic College of New Zealand, and 6 years' experience in clinical practice.  I am an active member of Naturopaths & Medical Herbalists of New Zealand (NMHNZ), who ensure the highest standards of education and naturopathic health care in New Zealand.  Previously, I gained a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Auckland.  An appreciation of science, people and the natural world have always been at the core of my work.

Nau mai, haere mai, I look forward to meeting you!
